In our neck of the woods, Rockefeller Center is ablaze with American flags.
This corner in Chelsea is a happy place to sit in the afternoon and dog watch.
(among others, we spotted black scottie brothers, an Italian greyhound and a Weimaraner puppy!)

We did an evening bike ride to Park Slope, Brooklyn to see our old friends Sam & Duncan and their three kids : )
On the way home, Manhattan glows beyond the Williamsburg Bridge.
Soaking up the sun and sights in Washington Square Park.
We saw the Birdman Pigeon Paul, with pigeons walking all over him. I don’t get it, but hey, whatever makes you happy.
We met up with Horatiu and biked down and around town.
Can you tell by their faces? It’s Pickle Day on the Lower East Side!
(We had fried pickles, horseradish pickles, wasabi pickles, small super hot pickles, smoked jalapeño pickles, sour pickles, green bean pickles and “everything” bread and butter pickles.)
Evening ride to a DAR meeting where a Baruch professor spoke to us about the role of women during the American Revolution.
On the way home I actually saw a man drop his pants and pop a squat between two cars. Oh New York!
Today we biked all the way downtown to Fraunces Tavern.. a national historic landmark and one of the oldest buildings in NYC. I was here a long time ago with my parents and grandparents.
Now, all these years later, we’re here for a nice catch-up lunch with our good friend Jeannine…
