As we’re heading downtown on our bikes, Ron says, “Boy, it really is cold!”
And I answer, “Well, there are snow flurries, so, umm, yeah…”
I see the birds and think that soon we’ll be flying off to warmer climes too..
In the meantime, we’re off on an adventure to see our friends from Kamloops, BC..
We met in Florida back at the end of 2011.
We turned them onto a New York institution: Katz’s Deli. They enjoyed pastrami and corned beef.
Steve and Yvonne have been averaging 9 miles walking every day in NYC so we powered them up with gelato. Some interesting flavors: chestnut, dark chocolate, egg nog, salty caramel and dark chocolate mint.
Ron decked out in blue on his blue bike.
And me in my pinks and purples.
We took the river path back, and it was cold and windy! Maybe ice cream wasn’t the best idea after all…. ha.
Thank you guys. Had a great visit, great Deli and delicious ice cream. Glad we stayed the extra day to see you. You made NYC even more special for us. Until the next time, safe travels, Y
You do know that “warm hearted”is a reference to you, and to how you make people feel…
Brrrr! Come south for Winter only to find it is 4 degrees warmer at home 200 miles north of Spokane Washington. But the hardship is worth it for good friends and our all time favorite/favourite New York City. You folks are worth the 4300 mile/6880 kilometre drive.

’til next November
