To give our cousin Elijah a taste of the countryside outside of NYC, we brought him to our Jersey place for the weekend. He immediately took to the minibike.
He learned to ride the quad and loved cruising down the driveway and across the front field. Well, that is until he saw a black bear up close and personal. Thankfully he was able to zoom away.
Eli loves seafood, so we planned a little lobster party. When I say little, I don’t mean the lobsters, which averaged 5 pounds each.
We set out to show Eli our hilly Sussex countryside. Sunny skies and happy smiles.
It’s a beautiful area, and Eli admitted he liked our part of New Jersey. He didn’t say he loved biking it though…
We stopped by to see Lady Liberty in a local patriot’s front yard. In the end we completed over 12 miles of hilly terrain. (And he’s smiling!!)
A swim in the pool soothes the muscles. Ahhh…
With “Steve’s horse” (yes, that is apparently his name). Lorine introduced Eli to all of their horses when we visited their farm..
Needless to say, Elijah is now a Double S Diner fan. Chocolate chip pancakes, please, and no, he doesn’t want a short stack! YUM.
Those lobsters are huge! They sure grow them big out there.
