Beautiful..! But it’s not looking like a perfect day for a solar eclipse. What are the chances, when you’re on the sunny side of Maui and it only rains like twice a year? Tsk.
We stop by Kalama Park where the National Solar Observatory and the Maui Science Center are holding an eclipse fair.
Remember, you can’t look directly at a solar eclipse.
“You’ll burn your eyes out!”
So we got special eclipse glasses.
They have a special viewing mirror set up, but we thought it was a pretty interesting selfie opportunity.
Are the clouds clearing??
Okay, so far, the eclipse hasn’t started.
And then… rain?!! Really?
I thought I spotted a silver lining, but no, the eclipse was never visible from our point of view.
Looking on the bright side of things, there is due to be a total solar eclipse that the whole U.S. can see on August 21, 2017. Mark your calendars…
You bought a shirt with turquoiseh stripes, a helmut with turquoise, turquoise shoes and a turquoie handlebar ring all to match your tires. How did you get turquoise on your eclipse glasses? .
.
Must have been an eclipse.

The color coordination has come together by accident, but I do have to say that turquoise was my grandmother’s favorite color, so maybe I am carrying a bit of her around with me…
