Ron is ready to roll on a road bike he just picked up. Instead of new bikes, most people here on Maui simply buy used rental bikes..
Monkeypod trees line the way on Hwy 30…
Ron loves this place in Waikapu. It’s nice to have a food destination on a big ride…
Ron enjoys the outdoor seating with a view of the Valley Isle’s valley.
(Note: due to availability, Ron was forced to get a Specialized bike, but he wears his Trek jersey in protest).
Ron had a traditional Hawaiian “plate lunch” with sweet shoyu (soy sauce) chicken, potato mac salad and lots of white rice.
I went next door to Maui Pasta Company and enjoyed the eggplant parm with homemade spaghetti.
Biking on Maui, you can choose flat roads or volcanic climbs.
Just remember that the tradewinds are always along for the ride.
Taking a break by the seaside and plotting what’s for dinner. Hmmm.
(We made senegalese peanut and chicken stew.. yum.)
We got back in time for the sunset show.
(Tricky reverse pano selfie technique!)
Great day for you two, glad to see you are having a good time.
Another great adventure, Y
