Traveling by bike allows us to see all kinds of interesting things….
You might see something in the woods along the road that looks like a softball. But that is actually a puffball mushroom! (#1)
You might spy on your very own road, another puffball, hiding in plain sight (#2).
This one’s pretty big.. (Note puffball #1 in the back of Ron’s jersey.)
Biggest so far was also spotted along our roadside. (#3) This one is over six pounds!
I also eyed two more, but they are on a neighbor’s property.. hmmm.
(Looks like our apples are ready for picking…)
Slicing open the small one, it’s looks just like a ball of mozzarella..!
FYI: the distinguishing feature of all puffballs is that they do not have an open cap with spore-bearing gills.
This big one is a monster, but look at that consistent white “meat” inside…
Coated with egg + cracker crumbs, now we’re frying ’em up in a pan with butter and olive oil…
Delectable!
Those look amazing!!! So cool. Xo
They are really good. And the best news is.. a day later, we’re still alive.
Wow l like how you two enjoy life and have an adventure seems like every day. And I’m very glad you are still alive!
