Who’s ready for an evening in Queens?!
We biked over the 59th Street Bridge, feelin’ groovy.
Socrates Sculpture Park in Queens. Here cousin Kelli is doing a modified reclining Buddha pose near The Living Pyramid. (She and I have done the weekend yoga here together..)
Cousin Angela traveled across the boro to meet us for the evening.
The “Find My Friends” App helps me locate my family.. : )
Yep, we’re all here.
We picked up croissants to enjoy with our farmers market tomatoes.
The sun is starting to set. The show should start soon…
Let’s start with an animated short: “Me and My Moulton” about three sisters who want a bicycle. Very sweet.
(Academy Award nominated, from Canada).
The feature: a female-directed Saudi Arabian film,”Wadjda” which is about a young Muslim girl who wants to get a bicycle, in spite of cultural beliefs that she will lose her virtue and virginity if she rides a bike. Eye opening.
Ron has his hi viz, front and back lights, and his blue belt for the ride home.
The Chrysler and the Empire State buildings are visible in the distance.
After the movies tonight, it feels especially freeing and wonderful to be on a bicycle..!
Great to read about your adventures again. Always makes me smile, Y
We love seeing you two and Angela’s smiling face!
